Preparations for next year’s enterprise bargaining are well under way, with the membership endorsement of the Staff Association’s bargaining position complete and a formal request sent to CSIRO Chief Executive Dr Megan Clark to set the first date for negotiations.
Staff Association members have voted to endorse the union’s bargaining position by an overwhelming majority.
Nearly 800 members participated in the online ballot, with over 91 per cent of electors voting to approve the position.
The bargaining position was based on the responses of nearly on thousand Staff Association members who took part in an online bargaining survey.
Staff Association Secretary Sam Popovski has written to Dr Clark, attaching a copy of the bargaining position and requesting a starting date for negotiations February.
“The bargaining position has been developed after widespread consultation with members about priorities for enterprise bargaining,” Mr Popovski writes.
“In order to ensure a genuine and timely enterprise bargaining process, the Staff Association hereby seeks CSIRO’s commitment to commence bargaining negotiations no later than mid-February 2014.”
“We look forward to working with you to achieve fair and positive outcomes for staff.”
Members will receive the next update regarding the Staff Association’s bargaining campaign in late January.
