Staff Association members are found across every CSIRO work area and are located in workplaces around Australia.
Our cause is to protect and progress the interests of our members in CSIRO and in society. We do this as the democratic voice for staff. We advocate for CSIRO and science. We provide the means to promote a community of staff in CSIRO so that we can assist members to enforce their rights.
The Staff Association is a section of the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), one Australia’s largest public sector unions.
CPSU represents thousands of Australian scientists and researchers working the federal public sector for organisations such as CSIRO, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, the Australian Institute of Marine Science and Defence Science and Technology.
Staff Association members are represented at each site by colleagues elected as workplace delegates for a 12 month term.
The CSIRO Staff Association is managed by a Council and Executive elected from CSIRO workplaces every three years. The President and Secretary are represent Staff Association members on CPSU Governing Council.
The CSIRO Staff Association provides a representative, democratic voice for CSIRO staff. We advocate for you, for CSIRO, and for science. Join today.
